Opinion mining

Opinion mining (also called "sentiment analysis") is the analysis of words expressed by the users of social media. Artificial intelligence is used to analyze this large amount of textual data published on social media in order to identify trends and even detect emerging issues. This technique, used by marketing companies, is now also used by governments to take the pulse of their population live. For example: in order to determine the needs of the population, but also the latest opinion trends and suggestions on a theme, a government listens to the discussions around a specific hashtag, for example #mobility. The data is collected and analyzed by an artificial intelligence developed by a public entity (cantonal or federal).
