What role should artificial intelligence play in democratic processes?
#IAdemocratie Artificial intelligence and citizens
Live testing of ideas (future)
In the future, artificial intelligence will be able to "think" like each of us. Our digital twin ( powered by artificial intelligence) will be able to accurately reflect our political opinions (and changes), and thus vote exactly as we would do.
This proposal is therefore projected into the future. Leaders will then be able to permanently consult our digital twins in order to test new ideas and public policies on them. This solution will allow leaders to have the pulse of the population "live", and therefore save time in the process of developing new laws and public policies.
For example: before proposing a new urbanization project, leaders will be able to test different options on the digital twins in order to evaluate which proposal best fits the needs and wishes of the population.
The data will be collected and analyzed by an artificial intelligence developed by a public entity (cantonal or federal).

This proposal makes me feel unease. One part of me would appreciate this increased directness. However, I believe that democratic processes are also about explaining and generating support for new ideas. I fear that in such a scenario, we either continuously perpetuate the status quo (given that legislators would only take a snapshot of what we believe already) or that our clones wouldn’t be able to adjust live to any changes in our believes or positions vis a vis a specific topic.
Many companies are interested in the idea of 3D product rendering because it gives them a way to present their products in an interactive manner that people can use to get a better feel for what they will be buying. https://atellierstudio.com/services/product-rendering/
