Who is behind participer.ge.ch?
The Republic and Canton of Geneva (Service of Consultation, Office of Urbanism) has developed a partnership with EPFL (LASUR) to explore digital public participation. participer.ge.ch is a prototype that is an integral part of an action research process to develop civictech in Geneva. It will also contribute to a swiss wide civictech barometer. What is participer.ge.ch?
It is a prototype to test new ways for digital public participation. Based on Decidim, an open-source tool developed by a community that emerged from the European project D-CENT and its respective initiatives from Reykjavik, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, and Madrid. Currently in beta version, we are continuously working to improve the user experience and performance of the platform.
Is participer.ge.ch compatible with the GDPR?
Yes. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) stipulates that a user, at any time, must be able to download an archive of their data as well as request the removal of their data by contacting the platform administrator. Any user of participer.ge.ch can download and request the removal of their data without the need to contact the administrator. Simply visit my account located on the top right-hand side of any page.
Can I easily access my data to either consult or delete?

Do you keep track of my navigation?
Session cookies are used to enhance your browsing experience. The session terminates once your browser window is closed and we don't keep any elements linked to the session. For more information about cookies, please visit our conditions of use.
Can the participer.ge.ch administrator access my account?
No. Like any other user of the platform, we can only access your public profile and nothing else. Your personal data linked to your account stays in your hands at all times.
How can I delete my account?
Once logged in, you can simply visit my account > delete my account. We do not keep a copy of your data so once deleted, it is gone forever.
How do I download an archive of my personal data?
Once logged in, you can simply visit my account > my data, then click the download my data button. You will receive a download link by email to download a copy of the archive. This does not modify in any way the normal functioning of your account.
Who can control my account?
Nobody can control your account apart from you. Even administrators can't delete your account easily. Only you can modify or delete your account information. We keep no track of your account once it is deleted.
