Changes at "Conference: The future of mobility in Geneva - What role for the tramway"

Avatar: Cyril Gros Cyril Gros

Description (English)

  • -

Conference in French and Q&A in French and English

Mobility in Geneva is evolving. The past 20 years has witnessed changes to the way we travel and to our values, needs and aspirations. Professionals engaged in planning transport and urbanism are also adapting. These changes echo profound social, technological and environmental transformations that are influencing mobility globally across contemporary urban societies. It is within this context that the extension of the tram between Nations and Grand Saconnex is being elaborated. This conference led by Professor Vincent Kaufmann (Urban Sociology Laboratory, EPFL- LaSUR) will shed light on trends and insights that will bring perspective to the tram extension: to what extent could it be a support and amplifier in response to the transformations taking place. The conference will conclude with a Q&A in French and English.

    Speakers:

    • Vincent Kaufmann (LaSUR, EPFL, Mobil'homme)
    • Matthias Lecoq (Canton of Geneva)
    • Matias Echanove (urbz)

    Date: 5 November 2019

Doors open 17h40, conference starts at 18h

    Location: Space 3DD

    Free and open to all.
