Overcoming cognitive biases (future)
Cognitive biases are automatic ways of thinking that deviate from logical or rational thinking. It is a quick way of making judgments or decisions without analytical reasoning. We adhere to them without even realizing it. They are often useful, but they can also lead to erroneous judgments.
In the future, an artificial intelligence will be able to reproduce our way of thinking in a reliable way. AI will then be able to highlight our cognitive biases and help us become aware of them when making a choice. The goal will be to make us more aware of our automatic ways of thinking.
Example: Confirmation bias is the very common tendency to look for and take into consideration only information that confirms one's beliefs and to ignore or discredit information that contradicts them. Artificial intelligence will be able to share information that contradicts our current point of view, and present us with facts that prompt us to consider new options or another point of view.
The artificial intelligence and the data collected will be managed entirely by a public entity (cantonal or federal).
